We provide our clients with regular updates on changes in taxation regulation, news from the world of accounting and, of course, information about the latest developments at SK Accountancy.
Did you have a new source of income in the tax year to 5 April 2014?
Do you need to complete a self assessment tax return?
If so, the deadline for notifying HMRC is 5th October 2014.
To avoid any potential penalties contact either us or HMRC without delay
HMRC no longer routinely send employer information by post.
The Employer and Budget Packs have been replaced by online guidance.
Between 20 February and 2 March 2014 employers who aren’t represented by an agent and who haven’t registered to receive an email alert will receive a letter telling them how to download the Employer Bulletin, Basic PAYE Tools, form P9X and receive information on finishing and starting the tax year. They will also be able to register for email alerts.
Employers need to register for email alerts. HMRC are reducing paper mailings and employers will need to register to receive an email alert in place of the paper mailings three times a year.
From 1 April 2012, all remaining VAT-registered businesses - those registered for VAT before 1 April 2010 with a VAT-exclusive turnover of less than £100,000 - have to submit VAT Returns online and pay any VAT due electronically.
If you are VAT registered you therfore need to sign up to using HMRC's online service. Using the online service is quick and easy but if you have any queries please contact us.
